Bread delivered by the Post Office...how reliable is that!?
Since we started taking orders online, our success rate is right at 99%. That is, out of
400 boxes ordered*, we've re-shipped a grand total of four due to late arrival. We've found it's not uncommon for shipments anywhere in the Lower 48 to arrive by the second day. And the number of repeat customers ordering online—from Virginia, Minnesota, Illinois, Seattle, NYC, Big Sur—seems to indicate, quite appropriately in the case of our unique products, that time from oven to table is not the most important consideration.
Can
I just get one loaf of multigrain spelt sent to
me, ASAP?
A
qualified "Yes!" You
can use our Custom
Order Request form to ask us to
do just that. But our ability to respond
is subject to time limitations. We do remain alert for developments which make using alternate carriers feasible, and/or enable more streamlined custom ordering. In the meantime, we will respond to custom orders, when we can.
 If
flat rate means "all inclusive", why do
I see: "Shipping,
handling, and tax may be added upon checkout" on
the PayPal shopping cart?
This
is some of the PayPal shopping cart "boiler plate" which
we can't suppress. You won't see any charges added
to the total that the cart shows.
Why
is there a separate browser window for the PayPal
shopping cart?
We
could suppress the address
of PayPal's secure, state-of-the-art
order processing server,
but then you wouldn't see
that lock symbol on your
browser window, signifying
a secure connection.
The sensitive part of
the order process would
be protected either way,
but the lock reassures
unequivocally.
When you do add items to an order, using both "Continue
Shopping" buttons in sequence will keep Grindstone's
"selected order" page and the PayPal shopping cart in
sync.
I
don't see a "Continue
Shopping" button on
the Paypal shopping cart page. What should I do?
If no "Continue Shopping" button is visible,
there's no problem: to add
more items, just close (not minimize) the browser window
which contains the PayPal cart. Closing the PayPal cart window is preferable to clicking
on the selected order page window (if visible underneath), because
each time you click the "Add..." or "View..." buttons
on our (Grindstone's) selected order page, a
separate new PayPal cart window will open. Each new cart window so generated will include all
the items you ever added up to that point,
so it's not necessary to keep any earlier cart
window open until you're ready to check out.

Got
another question?
Feel
free to ask.
We will respond at our earliest opportunity, and
if your question is of general interest,
we'll add it here.
